High-flying slam dunks, hilarious comedy, and fun for the whole family...

Come see the professional show "Harlem Ambassadors" vs the "Metro Emissaries," our very own
LVMPD Crisis Intervention Team. It promises to be an exciting and very entertaining game of basketball
that's sure to be enjoyed by all ages! All proceeds go to benefit NAMI of Southern Nevada.
The NAMI National Convention is the annual gathering of some 2,000 mental health activists and advocates from all over the U.S. and several foreign countries.
*Individuals who have a mental illness.
*Family supporters and indi-viduals with mental illness.
*Health and social policy-makers from both the public and private sectors.
*Treatment professionals-- including psychiatrists, psy-chologists licensed counselors, nurses, and social workers. (CEUs are available for nurses, social workers, and licensed counselors.)
All our attendees have one overarching reason for attending the NAMI National Convention: improving the lives of people who live with mental illnesses and the lives of the people who love and care for them. Our attendees are responsible for securing or recommending mental health services, products, and information for themselves, loved ones, clients, and patients diagnosed with serious mental illnesses. They are eager for the latest information, treatment options, coping strategies, support services, health and wellness information and activities, and legal and financial advice.

CIT programs are local initiatives designed to improve the way law enforcement and the community respond to people experiencing mental health crises. They are built on strong partnerships between law enforcement, mental health provider agencies and individuals and families affected by mental illness.
Our Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Depart and many local mental health care providers actively participate in Crisis Intervention Team Training (CIT), an innovative police-based, first responder program of pre-arrest jail diversion for those in a mental illness crisis. CIT supports collaborative efforts to create and sustain more effective interactions among law enforcement, mental health care providers, individuals with mental illness, their families and communities, and to reduce the stigma of mental illness.
NAMI has a special relationship with the Crisis Intervention Team Training program at local, state, and even the national level. NAMI keeps its members informed about CIT through its program “CIT In Action.”
