About us
Building better lives for people affected by mental illness since 1979. NAMI Southern Nevada is the local affiliate of NAMI — the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
We started, like NAMI itself, as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979. Today we serve thousands of Southern Nevadans each year through free peer-led programs proven to make a difference.
We provide free support, education, and advocacy to individuals and families affected by mental illness in Clark County and the surrounding region. All programs are offered at no cost and are open to anyone in the community — no insurance, no referral, no cost.

Making a difference in Southern Nevada
Education
Hundreds of family members and individuals complete NAMI education classes each year — Family-to-Family, Peer-to-Peer, Basics, Homefront, and Provider.
Support
Thousands attend NAMI SNV support groups annually. NAMI Connection, Family Support Group, and Youth Support Group meet weekly.
Community outreach
Presentations to schools, businesses, faith communities, and law enforcement — reaching tens of thousands of Southern Nevadans each year.
