EDUCATION CLASS

NAMI Peer-to-Peer

NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free, eight-session educational program for adults living with a mental health condition who want to better understand themselves and their recovery. It’s taught by trained leaders with lived experience, and it includes activities, discussions, and videos in a safe, confidential, and accepting environment.

This is a place to learn about recovery among people who genuinely relate to your experiences. As with all NAMI programs, it doesn’t recommend specific treatments — instead, it offers understanding, tools, and mutual support.

About this program

Peer-to-Peer is built around the idea that recovery is not only possible but, for many people living with mental illness today, probable. The course is led by trained mentors who are themselves in recovery, so every session is grounded in real, shared experience.

What you'll learn

Who this is for

Peer-to-Peer is for any adult (18+) living with a mental health condition who wants to focus on their own recovery and wellness. No official diagnosis is required. If you’re a family member or friend supporting someone else, our Family-to-Family class is the equivalent program for you.

What participants say

“NAMI Peer-to-Peer gave me hope when I was close to giving up. I realized that things can and do get better and that my mental health condition doesn’t define me.”

  — Peer-to-Peer participant

“It made me feel I was not alone in coping with mental illness; it gave me hope that I could recover.”
