WHAT CARES IS

Peer support —
not therapy, not a crisis line

CARES peer specialists have their own lived experience with mental illness or supporting a loved one. They’re trained to listen, share resources, and help you figure out next steps — whatever those look like for you.

CARES is not therapy and is not a substitute for professional mental health treatment. If you’re in immediate crisis, please call 988.

CARES replaces the previous NAMI Southern Nevada HelpLine with expanded, more personal support. You can also reach us at 1-800-950-6264 or by texting “HelpLine” to 62640.

CARES can help with:

Understanding a new diagnosis · Finding local resources · Navigating the mental health system · Supporting a family member · Recovery planning · Talking to your doctor or insurance · Feeling heard by someone who gets it
