WNV Warmline

NAMI Western Nevada has a warmline that is stigma-free, non-crisis, phone service you can call or text at 1-775-241-4212 to speak one-on-one with a NAMI WNV CARES operator. The Warmline is staffed by trained peers in recovery, who provide support to peers by telephone.

WHAT DOES THE WARMLINE PROVIDE?

The Warmline provides confidential support when we want to talk to someone. The Warmline gives you a peer’s perspective on how to find support in the community by phone, text, or video. Knowing someone cares can motivate us to carry on in recovery when there is anxiety.

WHAT IS PEER SUPPORT?

Peers are people impacted by traumatic events around living with a mental illness. Peer support offers, respect, understanding, hope, encouragement, and acceptance through mutual experiences lived with mental illness. Peer support can:

  • Show that people do recover
  • Walk with people on their paths of recovery
  • Provide social support to heal from the trauma of stigma through acceptance
  • Compliment mental health services by offering additional support
